This idea resulted from my first granddaughter being
born. At the stage in my life when
she was born, and I held her for the first time, it was a special moment. Later while shopping for her, as
grandparents do, I was unable to find a selection of bibs that stated the love
of the grandfather. Being a proud
grandpa, this concerned me. The
more I searched the more I was disappointed with the selection.
Another, more amazing void came later while shopping for an
outfit for my granddaughter’s Christening at our church. The outfits for Christenings were
beautiful, delicate creations. But
there were no bibs that matched the delicate designs. I understood the function of the bib and how they’re
stained; however, it’s just ugly to have a beautiful delicate outfit matched
with a bib featuring cartoon characters made out of a rough material.
I took this idea of a matching bib one step further and
thought about the miracle of children and how the bible has so many references
to the Lord’s WORD on this topic.
I thought this was a great idea of celebrating the birth of
children and spreading the Lord’s WORD simultaneously. But how could I think of using the
Lord’s WORD for profit without following His WORD and giving 10% back. There are so many worthy children
causes that need financial help that I decided it would be best to alternate
donations between children charities.
In my humble opinion, I think the fruits of God’s WORD would touch more
children this way. Examples of the
children charities I donate to are:
1)
Compassion International
2)
Samaritan Purse
Both of these groups are associated with children and
religion. Evangelic Financial
Chartable Association also audits them.
